My Work + Values

Visuals allow us the opportunity to tell a story, no matter how simple that story may be.

I work with both digital and analog mediums. I offer film photography packages, and I also like to incorporate subtle film emulation techniques and analog renderings in my digital process.

In my video work, I aim to produce dynamic imagery that immerses you in the audiovisual experience of the film, with fluid pacing and a subtle editing flare.

My beliefs and values are very important to my work and the people I work with. I fundamentally believe in an equitable world that prioritizes meeting everybody’s needs, from each according to their ability. Moving towards that world requires supporting the most vulnerable people in society today. I firmly believe in equality and respect for all. As a photographer, on set, I have a distinct responsibility to make sure that the people I work with feel safe, comfortable, and valued.

I have been working as a freelance photographer since 2018 together with Presnal5 and Skimbaco.

From 2022-2023, I took a full-time AV Production position at Aalto Studios to expand my video knowledge and competence, and I am now studying for a BA in Design at Aalto University.

I am also a photo/video specialist at NEXT Nordic Design / Young Finnish Design and formerly a youth member of the Photofuss group at the Finnish National Museum of Photography.

Background

American-Finn, or Finnish-American? Moved here from Canada... But I speak Swedish? It’s a bit all over the place.

Throughout my childhood, I was fortunate enough to move around a lot—on average every two to three years. Finland is the fourth country I’ve lived in, and I am a dual citizen of Finland and the United States.

That unique, international perspective on life that I am fortunate enough to have experienced gave me a greater cultural and social understanding of the world. While it taught me to seek diverse individual stories, it also taught me just how similar we, and our lives, really are. I approach the world with a sense of critical compassion and curiosity. It also taught me to adapt to the world around me.

I probably first picked up a camera when I was around 12, and I’ve loved it ever since. I have spent the past years dedicating myself to my craft—building up my skills and photographic eye—taking my camera everywhere and eventually starting my creative career in 2018 doing assorted freelance work.

I’m excited to share my years of experience with you.

I'm just a dude with a camera and a vision.
